Why we teach
Our goal
Our goal is to improve the quality of education available worldwide and share the joy and wonder that BASE has given us. In sharing our knowledge and experience, we hope to make everyone's experience safer and more fulfilling.
Small groups
A low instructor to student ratio on every course, so you get real coaching instead of a lecture.
Still jumping
We teach what we actively do. Both of us are current, jumping year round across four continents.
Honest screening
If you are not ready, we will tell you what to work on first. Nobody gets sold a course they should not be on.

Originally from Brazil, Julia began her journey in skydiving and BASE in 2012. What started as a passion quickly became a lifelong commitment to human flight, taking her from Brazil to some of the most demanding and spectacular flying locations around the world.
With more than 3,000 skydives and over 1,700 BASE jumps, Julia brings an extraordinary depth of experience to the sport. She is a proud member of the U.S. Parachute Team, representing the United States as a member of the U.S. Acrobatic Wingsuit Flying Team.
When she is not teaching BASE jumping with Bob's BASE Academy, Julia works full time as a wingsuit instructor at Skydive Elsinore. She is passionate about helping wingsuit pilots progress through quality coaching, sound technique, disciplined decision-making, and a strong understanding of equipment and the flying environment.
Julia has traveled extensively around the world organizing wingsuit loads and events, flying and coaching alongside pilots from many different countries. Her international experience has exposed her to a wide variety of aircraft, locations, flying styles and conditions, making her a highly versatile instructor and coach.
Julia is also an AFF instructor and senior rigger, combining thousands of jumps with extensive knowledge of parachute systems and equipment. She began teaching BASE in 2017 and continues to dedicate herself to education and mentorship within the sport.
From her beginnings in Brazil to representing the United States on the international stage, Julia's journey reflects the truly global nature of skydiving and BASE jumping. She has built her career around flying, learning, teaching and sharing her experience with others.
For Julia, flying is about more than the numbers. It is about precision, preparation, discipline, exploration and continual learning. Whether she is coaching a wingsuit pilot at Skydive Elsinore, teaching BASE at Bob's BASE Academy, organizing a wingsuit event somewhere in the world, or representing the United States in competition, Julia brings the same commitment to excellence.
A longtime local of Skydive Elsinore, Julia is proud to call the drop zone home and is sponsored by Skydive Elsinore.
From Brazil to the world. More than a decade of experience, thousands of jumps, and a life dedicated to flight.

After two deployments to Operation Iraqi Freedom, I found myself looking for something that quenched my thirst for adventure and exploration. My first jump was at Bridge Day 2008, I completed BASE 3 months after that. Since then, I have tried to maintain currency by jumping non stop and learning about every facet of the sport along the way.
As much as I love big wingsuit jumps, BASE is a 4 letter word. Every object is an adventure and also an opportunity to prepare for that next even bigger mission. My favorite part of BASE is by far the people. This sport gives you an amazing chance to travel the world and meet some of the most insane characters along the way. Some of the people I started jumping with back in the day are some of my closest friends even almost 20 years later.
It took me quite a long time to feel comfortable instructing BASE jumping, but I feel it is my duty as an active jumper to pass down the information I have learned. Some lessons are learned harder than others, and maybe Julia and I can pass those down to a new generation without a lot of the pain.

What our jumpers say
Going into the FJC with Scotty and Julia brought some interesting challenges being a larger person in the BASE world (6'6 and 245 lbs) but they took a bunch of measures to secure gear for me to use and make sure it was as safe as possible. I learned more in this course than I even imagined I could going into it, and the whole time was a blast. I don't think any other course could have been so perfect for myself, they went far out of their way to hook me up, help me order gear and answer every question I could think of. Absolutely recommend this course to anyone looking to do an FJC!

Base with the bobs is the best way to get into the sport. From getting measured to all the pre-course instructions to the low instructor to student ratio I'd do it all over again.

Learn from the best if your life is worth it! It's easy to be the best at the dz, or even in your country, but the Bob's brings world level expertise in all aspects of BASE to the table, plus that extra value of heaps of coaching and teaching experience.

Scotty and Julia both are made for what they do! Couldn't thank them enough for my first base course! Will definitely get with them in the future for more advanced training as well! Both on a professional level! Highly recommend getting with the Bobs for your first base course! Thank you guys so much for everything!

Julia and Scotty were great coaches, I learned a lot and definitely recommend them to start in the BASE environment. From the beginning they helped me set the logistics and prepare the course, with packing proficiency and canopy drills in a skydiving environment. They prepared me through the course to be a responsible BASE jumper and assess every jump. Having completed 15 jumps during the course and 2 by myself, I feel super stoked and happy of this new experience and family.
